Villa Status is a private holiday home built in complete harmony with the surrounding area, adhering to the architecture of the island. Like most Zante houses, the villa is inspired by the medieval Venetian mansions and features three floors and big open plan rooms. Traditional elements, such as the rooftop, the adorable balconies, and the wooden ceiling on the attic blend naturally with the contemporary furniture inside. Similarly, the outdoors are a wonderful spot to absorb the sun and fresh air.

Practically in the centre of the beautiful Ionian island, Vougiato is a low-key village in Zante, still holding old traditions and keeping a slow pace. Soothing landscapes of pristine nature encircle villa Status and architectural gems of Byzantine churches attract the few village residents and guests. Olive trees and vineyards are aplenty here, giving you just the right amount of inspiration for your next wine or olive oil tasting in Zakynthos.
Beaches
Laganas beach, the biggest one you will find on the island, is 7 km away and is well-known for its clear waters and for being the place where the Caretta-Caretta turtles lay their eggs. The sandy beach of Tsilivi, also 15 minutes from the villa, offers a shore long enough for swimming, walking, or sunbathing. Try some water sports or relax under the Greek sun. Both resorts offer sunbeds for rent and beach bars for all-day snacking.
Local Markets & Shopping
The closest convenience store is located right in the centre of Vougiato village, where basic amenities can be found. An 18-minute drive to Zante city though gives you just the right variety of shops any holidaymaker needs. From clothes and swimming equipment to souvenirs and local products, you can find everything in the island’s capital. The popular resort of Laganas is also a favoured shopping option.
Bars & Restaurants
A traditional restaurant near the village square, and a small cafe, offer a peaceful lunch setting within walking distance. Take your car all the way to Zante town where all kinds of eateries and cuisines will satisfy your palate. A fun alternative, Laganas, will amaze you with beachfront restaurants and bars. Don’t miss the nightlife there.

Tsilivi Water Fun Park is a favourite for kids of all ages. In Laganas, bowling facilities are available, as well as mini-golf. Engage in family sports like football and try snorkelling. Educational excursions, like a Caretta-Caretta watching tour, will provide a lot of fun and knowledge. The Water Park in Sarakinado is also an exciting destination if water slides are your thing!

The beautiful island of Marathonisi is a must-see. Hire a boat from Laganas and explore the unspoiled scenery. Kids will remember Navagio beach for many years to come. The amazing beach featuring a shipwreck is a one-of-a-kind experience. Either you choose to admire the view from atop or reach the shore by sea, make sure to take lots of pictures. Perfect for a family outing, the town of Zakynthos is perhaps the best spot to wander around on foot, even with kids of a very young age, and enjoy the large Solomos square.
