From the family entertainment and lively bars and restaurants of Tsilivi resort, to the portside tavernas and excellent shopping of the island’s capital, you’ll be spoilt for choice. If it’s beaches you’re after, glorious sandy bays and hidden, pebbly coves are within easy reach, with the nearest beach just 5 minutes’ drive away.
Local markets and shopping
The island’s buzzing capital, Zante Town, has great shopping opportunities, with a broad range of shops stocking jewellery, clothes and gifts. Alternatively, head to Tsilivi. The resort has a great selection of souvenir shops to peruse along its main street and winding side lanes. There are also many mini markets and a supermarket for stocking up on holiday essentials.
Bars and restaurants
There are a few nearby tavernas on the seafront a few minutes’ drive from the villa. For a wider selection, try the restaurants in the thriving Tsilivi resort. Traditional eateries sit alongside international restaurants offering an array of cuisines, including Chinese, Italian and Greek. Choose to dine on the main street or enjoy a gentler pace at a seafront restaurant with a view. Come evening, plenty of local bars stay open well into the night. You can also choose one of Zane Town’s many tavernas or venture up to Bocchali village which sits above the capital. Why not enjoy a cocktail as you watch the sunset over Zante Town?
Beaches
Tsilivi Beach is a long, sandy bay backed by beach bars, with some even offering service direct to your sunbed! Those looking to expend some energy may like to try one of the many watersports on offer here, such as parascending or jet skiing. Those searching for a laid-back vibe can explore the beaches of the north east coastline such as Gaidaros, Bouka, Psarou and Ammoudi, to name a few.
Family fun
Tsilivi has no shortage of family focussed fun! On the main street you’ll find Fantasy mini golf with three 18 hole courses where little ones can perfect their putting. There’s ‘Bowl Em Over’, a 4 lane bowling alley and a local waterpark with slides of all heights, a wave pool and much more. Last but not least, Luna Fun Park has plenty to keep kids smiling, with trampolines, inflatables, face painting and a games arcade.
Places of interest
By far the most famous attraction on the island, Shipwreck Beach is a must see. This dramatic scene can be viewed from a vista point high up in the mountains or alternatively, take a boat from Porto Vromi to get up close and personal with the wreck – don’t forget your camera!
