Beaches

On the nearby beach of Agios Sostis with the shallow and crystal clear waters, you can find sunbeds for your convenience. Rent a boat to Marathonisi, also known as the Loggerhead turtle island, because of the Caretta-Caretta nesting on its shore. Why not arrange an excursion to the famous Keri Caves, where you will have the opportunity to dive in the clear blue waters of the Ionian Sea during your trip. Don’t forget to explore the wide stretch of sandy beaches in Kalamaki and Laganas. Visit the peninsula of Vasilikos in the southeast with the most picturesque beaches of the island, in the wonderful scenery of a pine forest.

Local Markets & Shopping

The nearest supermarket is located in Laganas, five minutes from Villa Amor. You will be able to find a wide variety of souvenirs and gifts, suitable for everyone. Souvenir shops are also an option in Kalamaki, nearby. On the way to the capital you will find two other supermarkets where you can buy everything you need.

Bars & Restaurants

Within a ten minute walk from the villa, a popular taverna – for locals and visitors alike –  serves traditional delicacies. Alternatively, pay a visit to the beach restaurants and bars in the resort of Agios Sostis or drink your wine in one of the traditional taverns overlooking the port of the nearby Lake Keri. For those who want to spend their night dancing, you will find the fun and liveliness you are looking for in cafes and bars in Laganas.

Family fun

The nearby Keri Lake offers boat trips as well as diving lessons to explore the natural wonders of the island. Kalamaki has an excellent mini-golf and go-kart court, which are open from early afternoon until late at night and offer fun for the whole family. For an even more exciting experience, head to Sarakinado Water Park. You will get there by car in less than 30 minutes and you will experience the slides that will raise your adrenaline. There are also calmer forms of water entertainment for all ages. The children will explore the jungle-themed playground with slides, but also the “Mermaid Pool” with fountains and water sprays.

Points of interest

Zakynthos is known for the Shipwreck Bay, an hour away by car. Take the time to ride around the mountains by car. Make a stop at the point of view of the shipwreck to admire it from an interesting angle and take wonderful photos. Instead, you can drive to Porto Vromi to see it up close by boat. On the hill that dominates above the capital is Bohali, which is worth visiting and sitting for coffee, refreshments or ice-cream while enjoying the view of the city of Zakynthos. Wander around the ruins of the Venetian Castle, and in the evening enjoy a cocktail watching the city lights flicker at your feet.
