Location Features Defilia Villa
The verdant Pantokrator village is located in the southern part of the island, just a breath away from the bustling Laganas beach, which is full of life day and night, but also the less busy but equally lively Kalamaki. If you love old-world scenery, traditional stone churches and never-ending tranquillity, you will fall in love with Pantokratoras village, a true sanctuary to escape the city, while the most important island hubs are very close to the villa.
Beaches
Apart from Laganas beach, you can go to Kalamaki, Lake Keri and Agios Sostis beaches nearby to enjoy the sea. Sun loungers and parasols can be found on all beaches. Within a few minutes walking distance, you can visit the famous Caretta-Caretta turtles or rent a boat to explore Marathonisi island.
Local Markets & Shopping
In a few minutes’ drive, you can reach Laganas, with an interesting shopping centre for clothes and souvenirs. On the way to the beach, you will find many small shops with everyday goods. A little further on, equally cosmopolitan but more low-key Kalamaki, also offers a wide variety of shops and places to eat out. Find a wide range of local products and more in the island’s capital town.
Bars & Restaurants
Excellent dining options such as local traditional tavernas are practically located on Villa Deifilia’s doorstep. Both in the village and along the beach you can enjoy your meal overlooking the sea. Take it easy and enjoy a drink in one of the many bars in the centre and the surrounding cobbled streets, accessible by car or on foot.
Family fun
Kids will go crazy in the Sarakinado Water Park, or the Caretta Fun Park Centre. In Laganas and Kalamaki you can play mini-golf, and, if you are a fan of water sports such as jet-skiing, pedaloes and so on, you will have the opportunity to enjoy them all in Agios Nikolaos. All are very close to Villa Deifilia’s location.
Points of interest
Swim along with the famous Caretta-Caretta turtles that roam the island’s south, in the waters of the villa’s nearby beaches. Pantokrator is also less than 10 km from the capital, where you can spend a whole day strolling by the shops, in the Venetian castle, or admiring the view of the island’s eastern part from the city’s hilltop lookout point. A little further, within an hour’s drive towards the north of the island, you can visit Volimes, a small village famous for its handicrafts which you can buy as gifts for your friends. Don’t miss out on admiring the Shipwreck, either approaching it by sea or gazing at it from the nearby hill where you can take magnificent photos.
